Sore as Hell

I cannot believe how sore I am.  I did kickboxing and X-Camp last night.  It was pretty rough but I still cannot believe the hurt I am feeling right now or how I felt last night.

Even thought it was kickboxing class I got to roll a little, with the mma gloves on.  One of the fighters at the gym, Nick, is fighting on Nov. 20th.  So basically everyone has to beat up on him.  Hahaha.  Lucky for me, Nick likes working with me, even though I am like half his size.  He fights at 170 but he walks around about 190ish.  With the way a lot of the fighters are there aren't consistently enough people to help Nick get ready, you know people close to his size.  So anyway even though I'm like the smallest person there, the guys that are there are really only good for muscling him and don't know any technique on the ground really.

Nick alternated with a rather large man who doesn't have any ground, who was instructed to just try to hit Nick as much as possible, a pretty good Muay Thai guy, who only did stand up with Nick, and me, who basically got to be on the positive end of the worst case scenario and just try to ground and pound.

I was so gassed after the second or third time I went with Nick that it took me like a full 7 minutes to recover, meaning really start hitting the bag again.  The people who rotate in on Nick just do the kickboxing class on the bags when not working with Nick.  Anyway, I was dying.  John kept asking me where my cardio was at and all I could do was shrug my shoulders and try not to vomit.

X-Camp didn't feel much different.  We did a circuit with 9 stations I think.  The stations were only 30 seconds each but when they are that short you have to do a full sprint speed pace the entire time.  Then we ran stairs between the circuits.  We did that 3 times.

The circuit exercises were: tire flips with jumps in and out of the tire after each flip, 2 handed kettlebell swing, power ball (slamming a ball back and forth over your legs while in a seated position, L pull ups, something like a curl over (it was some gymnast stuff), wall ball (just throwing the medicine ball as high up the wall as you can then squating), push ups on a suspended chain, and reverse flys on a chain.
