Tension

We worked on the bags on Sat. for the first 30 min or so.  Then we got in the cage to help one of the Muay Thai guys get ready for a fight he has coming up.  We all sparred about 3 rounds, without clinching, and then did 3 rounds with clinching.

My elbow is still a bit stiff from being hyper-extended again on Fridday night.  I think I was protecting my elbow too much and I ended up making my back to tense and by the end of the stand-up work I basically couldn't move.  My whole right side of my back was very tight and I spent the next hour laying on my back trying to relax.  I watched Noe and Josh roll and work on sweeps and kimuras.  :-(  I hate having to just watch class.

On Friday night I showed up to the gym for Shawn's class but I guess no one showed up so Shawn left around 6:30.  I did some cardio for a little while then I ended up rolling with this guy Justin, who usually does Shawn's class.  He and I rolled for about 15 min.  Then I got to roll with Jeff.  Justin and I worked with the gi and Jeff didn't have a gi so we worked more MMA style grappling.  I really need to work on my spider guard sweeps and some attacks from there.  I always get spider guard but it makes no sense because I don't have any moves from there.  I can usually control the other person somewhat but that is not a good reason to be in a position.  I really need to work on stuff from there.
