Sparring

I did stand up sparring for almost the entire workout tonight.  It was good practice.  My cardio really needs some work.  We were doing 5 min. rounds though.  I will only be doing 3 min rounds for my fight in August.  There was a guy named Jordan there tonight who weighs roughly the same amount as me, 130.  It was cool going with someone about the same size as me.  I mean he is still a man so he's strong but the rest of the guys I was sparring with tonight were all at least 180 I think.  At the very end, for the last 3 min of sparring, I sparred with Sara.  She trains a lot of muay thai so it was fun.

I rolled for a few min with Sara, until her band aid came off and she had to go grab some tape.  I rolled with Jordan for at least 6 minutes, it might have been longer.  Neither of us tapped the other.  I sure was getting tired, but instead of making sure I used technique I think I ended up muscling a lot.  It's weird when you get tired and end up doing the opposite of what you should.  I was just laying there letting him squish me some of the time, when I should have been trying to scramble a little more to stop him from being able to squish me and make me more tired.  Oh well maybe next time I recognize it before I am blogging about it and be able to swish it up a bit in training.  :-)  We will see.  BJJ tomorrow night!
